This policy explains what personal information The Hair Witch Academy collects, why, and what we do with it. We only collect what we need to answer you and run your course.

  1. 01Who we are

    The Hair Witch Academy is run by The Hair Witch Academy Ltd, led by Verity, at The Coven, 29 Bell Street, Romsey, Hants SO51 8GY. The Hair Witch Academy Ltd is the controller of the personal information described here. For anything about your information, email hello@belleandthecoven.co.uk.

  2. 02What we collect

    • When you use the early booking form: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the course and date you're interested in, and anything you write in your message.
    • When you email us: your email address and whatever you include in your email.
    • When you book: the details above, plus your booking and payment records. We don't see or store your card details - payments are handled by our payment providers.
    • Before your course: the experience and requirements form we send you. If you tell us about a health condition or access need, we use it only to look after you on the day.

    When you visit the site, our server keeps standard technical logs (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the site secure and working.

  3. 03How we use it and why

    • To reply to your enquiry and arrange your booking - because you've asked us to, and to take steps towards a contract with you.
    • To deliver your course, send you your manual, equipment list and certificate, and provide after-course support - to perform our contract with you.
    • To keep financial records - because the law requires it.
    • To keep the site secure - in our legitimate interest in running a safe website.

    We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you've asked us to, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

  4. 04Who we share it with

    We never sell your information. We share it only with the services we use to run the academy, and only as much as they need:

    • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which delivers the early booking form to our inbox.
    • Our email provider, which holds our correspondence with you.
    • Our hosting provider, which runs this website.
    • Our payment providers - Stripe for card payments, and Klarna if you choose to pay in instalments - when you pay for a course.

    Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, it's protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

    We may also share information if the law requires us to.

  5. 05How long we keep it

    Booking and payment records are kept for six years, as required for tax and accounting.

  6. 06Cookies

    This site doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and its fonts are served from our own server rather than a third party. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first. Links to other sites, such as Instagram, take you to services with their own privacy policies.

  7. 07Your rights

    Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it transferred to you or someone else. To use any of these rights, email us - we'll reply within one month.

    If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

    We'll update this page if anything changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
